Researcher development
QES Academic Press supports educational initiatives intended to strengthen responsible scholarly writing, peer review, research reporting and publication literacy.
Early Career Reviewer Development Program
A structured learning and mentorship pathway may support eligible students, postgraduate scholars and early-career researchers who wish to develop competence in scholarly peer review.
Program pathway
- Application and screening: applicants provide relevant academic and research information.
- Training: participants learn confidentiality, conflicts of interest, reporting guidelines, methodology appraisal and constructive review writing.
- Supervised experience: eligible trainees may participate in supervised review activities under editorial control.
- Editorial assessment: independent reviewer status is considered only when expertise, research experience and performance are appropriate.
Important: participation in a development program does not automatically confer independent reviewer status.
